Well, I'm attempting to make the archives work. Meh, I never know how to do this right. Not like my archives are all that important anyway. XO
Well, the opening for the student art show was tonight, and it sucked. Badly. The "variety" of art (actually, mainly just oil paintings) all depicted people. I think that 5 pieces did not have a person in them outside the ceramics and jewelry...? There were few pieces I actually enjoyed... Much to my dismay, many of the wonderful pieces I saw did not make it in. I think judges suck these days and pick "ugly" art over talent. I mean, if everyone turned in a mile long self portrait of themselves with a chicken, it would've gotten into this show. And I am not kidding. The last show that we had here was also horrible. I guess the school is losing it's ability to have talented artists showcase their work here... I want to see something different, something new... Something that excites and inspires me...! Yet nothing I saw tonight did. It was mostly "Eventually, I'll be doing that in that class. Yay." Even the Lowndes-Valdosta Arts Center had a somewhat poor gallery up... It was nice, but so... redundant. JUST like the one that is currently in VSU. Ugh. I'd rather see cow piss on the sidewalk than some of the art in that gallery again. Meh. >>; (I rooted for the peppers, the sailor, and the horse!!! ;___;)

It was so strange... I guess being the "littlest" means you have the most power sometimes. When you are the last person someone would feel a loss of respect from and it forces them to finally confront the issue... That is simply so strange. But I suppose that is the way things are at times. Strange. On the one hand, it feels good. On the other, it feels rather bad. I don't want to be the strong one or anything, but I don't want to be the weakest either. ^^;; Just sitting there in the middle, that's where I would like to be. Ah... yes. Too bad no one can ever sit in the middle. ^^;;

I entered three pieces to the student competition, but none got in. ^^; Ah well... My art is still for my family only anyway.

Laura and I are considering modelling for cash... That's right. $45 for 3 hours worth of work, and you can be a clothed model. $60 is what you get for being a nude model... But I could never do that I don't think. ^^;;

I would write more, but I am about to go take some more photos with my new digital camera... *^^*

1. Explain why you started to journal/blog.
I started it because Brian had one. Yeah, Sarah too. I thought it would be "fun."

2. Do people you interact with day to day or family members know about your journal/blog? Why or why not?
My friends don't tend to read this one, but they read my livejournal. My family members don't read any of them to my knowledge.

3. Do you have a theme for your journal/blog?
Whatever I want to put or say. Might be a thought, might be a synopsis of my day.

4. What direction would you like to have your journal/blog go in over the next year?
I'd guess that I still have it and write in it. Even if I am forced to generally censor it. --;

5. Pimp five of your favorite journals/blogs.
Being that this is the pointless "I LOVE MY WEB GOD/GODDESSES!" plug-in section, I refuse to answer. My favorites are my favorties, and they have nothing to do with this survey.

Friday Five

Thursday, February 13, 2003

Due to my lack of a blog last Friday, I'm going to do last week's Friday Five, then put up this weeks whenever it comes out tonight. ^^;

1. What did you have for breakfast this morning? If you didn't have breakfast, why not?
I never eat breakfast on Tuesdays or Thursday. But since this should've been done on a Friday, I would've eaten my biscuit with sausage gravy and pink lemonade... mmm... :9

2. What's your favorite cereal?
Eww. But I have to pick, that Honey Nut Crunch stuff was good... Wait. That's not what it was called. Or is it? O_o; The more common cereal I like is Cheerios. There we go. XD

3. How often do you eat out? Do you want that to change?
Twice a month on average. I'd like to eat out every night and never have to wash dishes again, but unfortunately, twice a month adds up fast enough. ^^;;

4. What do you plan on having for dinner tonight? Got a recipe for that?
Tuna fish on saltines. And yeah, I got a recipe for it. Mayo, a can of tuna, and saltines. ;P

5. What's your favorite restaurant? Why?
Sushi restaurants! Here, I like Mori. Back home, I LOVE AND ADORE KIKU. *^^* But the best place I've ever eaten with the BEST food was the Culinary School of Arts in Atlanta. It was superb. I've not had better since then, and I was in 8th grade I think. 6 years and still nothing can top it. ^^

Hmm... This is going to be one bad week. Remind to make a real post when I get back. Oi. @_@;

Okay, it's not working again. I hate today.
Okay, my blog works. Finally. Had to fix it on my own, but I got everything all figured out. :P

We have to use blogger due to some hacking incident with Greymatter. Meh. I liked greymatter better. >>; Ah well. I guess I'll make a layout if I feel like it. I'd rather just get in my camera and make art and photograph the art I already have. Maybe find a way to make my livejournal my blog as well, but I think you have to pay to do that. Meh. --;

I hope this works...?
